SCADassignment

Studying with Savannah College of Art & Design this summer, and our assignment is to create a self portrait using an animal. I've always been fascinated with eagles, but I'm not sure I'm pleased with the results of watercolor ink. To make the image more dynamic, I added black line work in Illustrator and brushed up the rest in Photoshop to abstract color and "wind" the wings.

Save

Ok, so get this. My brother-in-law invites me to his cookout again this year. Last year was the '07 Pig Roast and I agreed to design the t-shirts for him. So, this year when he invited me again, I was happy (but noticed I had a major conflict and couldn't attend). Instead of even a brief pause (to act impacted by my absence), he continues with, "So...can you do the t-shirt design thing again for me?" Here it is, the 2008 family reunion design for the big shin-dig...without me. For the record, I'm an animal lover, and I took NO enjoyment in doing this

Homage

I'd like to take this opportunity to pay homage to Trout 2008. What an outing: 12 tents and a bunch of fun, long overdue -- creekside. Just we and the trout. Every year homage is paid to the elusive and secretive fishes of York County, PA. Stocked with life and energetic display, Beaver Creek is ready to angle -- except this time the fish came to see the trophy good times along Barshinger Road and all who came out to partake. Meet two of your sponsors, Jim & Andy -- a couple of teachers-by-day, crazies-by-night kind of guys sharing some down home camping & fellowship. It's where the Brook Trout come to hoot and holler. Here's to more of them! Cheers.

Pet Peeve

Peeved with a life of scavenging, betraying, & free-loading, the Dingo family finally turned their backs on him. Now left to fend alone, Diego's bags are packed. Maybe cousin Hyena would take him in. Or, perhaps only laugh?

Corporate America: another way of saying Buffalo Theory. Behold the stampede, for the betterment of the herd depends upon the sacrifice of the weak and dying to ensure the survival and overall health of its future. Hmmm.

Open Table

"Table's Open"...oil on wood for my brother's 30th birthday and house-warming gift. Ironically, our return trip this past weekend from camping in Virginia was followed with a fitting theme.

Paradise Drive-In

Sort of a combination of last week's theme: Swing on in, kick your heels off, and enjoy an ice cold shake at our ol' fashioned theatre. Seems like outings like this are harder and harder to come by.

Citrus-flavored Neighbor's Sign

In an instant, your sign can be signaled and seen. The slightest movement could trigger emotions in someone or something else. These are my neighbors. They smell of citrus. Perhaps they were into the air fresheners again.

Self Portrait

Our students are using traditional dry media like charcoal and pastel on pre-dampened surfaces. The last of the series is a self portrait study.
